WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item Level upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will display an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item level upgrade and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones.
