    The grey wire is situated at the edges of the transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. The sensor transmits an electrical signal through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU utilizes this information to regulate the amount of fuel and boost. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.

    The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is so it can activate spark and injectors according to the situation.

    If this sensor fails the ECU will throw the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync, possibly indicating chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper chain of timing. However, the error code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

    Testing can be a bit difficult since there are two pins replacement key for audi the connector and they serve different purposes however the best way to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU.     I also tried to reset PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 plugged in. However, the intermittent misfire problem persists at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c even when i unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is zero.

    I don't know what to do. I believe that I've eliminated everything else. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please share them! TIA!

    3. Fuel Pump

    The fuel pump in the g28 gets a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is the same as the G4 and both function in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a salvage yard or from a parts store. Test them out by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's side up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's side). They should be infinite ohms.

    4. ECU
