Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the type of cleaning robot mop and vacuum you'd like for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks must be completed including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mowing abilities. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop alternatives available. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It will also tell you if the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot vacuums best is one of the most expensive models available. It does have several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage.
