The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it reached carpet or rugs.

After every mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and fills up its water tank onboard with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock also adds a cleaning solution into the water for deep cleaning. The S1's water tank holds enough water for about twelve cleaning sessions before it has to be cleaned, although this can vary based on how often you use the mop.

The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. In order to do this, you'll have to clean the dirty water tank occasionally to avoid it from clogging. You will also need to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to prevent them from getting clogged up with dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

Its mopping is quite impressive, and comes with a pair of spin mop pads that actually lift and scrub the floors, as opposed to simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station as required. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station when required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

The Q5 is one of the few robots we tested that didn't show any trouble with high-pile carpets and area rugs, but it couldn't remove cables or kitty litter and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
