The docking station has a handy LCD screen that displays the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. Like the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then change its path automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot vacuum cleaner uk I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
