WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item level Upgrade but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will show an image of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

Upgraders for items are available in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. Crests

This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
