The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install, and it works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping, you will need to pay attention to this.

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its massive dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base has a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot vacuums that mop or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle the child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
