WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level upgrade (news) level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item upgrader mod from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item upgrader mod slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require a variety of means, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level for an item upgrades in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even when they are part of another set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
